Greg Stiemsma, Gilbert Arenas and other stuff

Should Greg get the starting position? The possible reasons for that can be that JO is almost invisible on offence, but can still play defence. He's struggling with injuries and he's getting old, as we could see with his rib problem at the Pacers game, where he went to the locker room. And, seriously, it's easier to train Greg to be more agressive on offence that Jermaine. Or should he just get more minutes, and if he does, should be a significant increase or not? Just for the record, I'm not saying to waive Jermaine or completely shut him down, infact, we need him. Yes he's old and everything, but he knows how to play the game and has a lot of experience.

The other things is - Gilbert Arenas. He was waived by the Magic in December, and we could sign him. I mean, we already have a lot of players, but something can be worked out about him. He's a solid score if given a chance. He was excellent in Washington but his number slowly began to deteriorate when he went to the Magic, mostly because of benchwarming. He isn't old and can play both guard positions. Should we go for him?

The thing (or suggestion) is trading something for Tyson Chandler. The main reason for this is that the Knicks and the Magic are discussing the trade of Dwight Howard (http://www.rantsports.com/courtcrusades/2012/01/06/orlando-magic-new-york-knicks-talking-dwight-howard-trade/). Dwight is the best defender and center in the league, and if the Knicks sign him, they won't Chandler that much anymore, and just because of that, they'll be a little more willing to trade him. We should involve draft picks or something. That's not official, but it's a possiblity. What do you think?

Stiemsma still

needs to learn grabbing rebounds a lot, post defense, and to temper his eagerness to block every shot to avoid early foul trouble. KG needs help in the paint controlling the board which JO is only contributing 4 rebounds per game.

Gilbert will fill in great

Dooling and bradley cant driblle so gilbert will take a HUGE load of of rondo’s back. We know he can score I know he was bad in orlando but that was because they didn’t give hime a good role on the team; doc will do that :D and to only think a bench of : Arenas ; dooling ; pietrus; bass and steisma will be awesome on offense. But we can only offer him the min since we gave our mini-MLE to wilcox (serouisly) but I am really surprised that no team really tried to get him.
Now regarding the tyson chandler thing he has a HUGE contract that will really hurt our cap space for the next few years although he would fit in perfectly (a taller more athletic better offensive version of Perk) and again what could we possibly trade for him? Our only trade chip is JO’s expiring contract and its laughable to think that this is the best offer the Kniks will get for chandler .

stiemsma over JO

reason is because i rather keep JO fresh and healthy for post season we can live with his limit minutes in regular season, plus the more exp stiemsma gets the better for us. we can have a good cheap center for next year because of him being rookie and all so is a win win to me Arenas is good but has a lot of back story problem i think that’s what kept DA and others away……

Stiemsma and Gilbert?

I find that starting Greg over JO is a rather no-brainer. He has more of a added value as of this point. He has high energy (due to his eagerness to preform) and the effort that he is willing to display. JO has been lazy and not really caring anymore. I think it is the best direction for the Celtics to head right now.

Gilbert, seriously? He has not preformed up to his expected talents in the last three seasons. His previous FG% was 40.4 and his current is 38.3. His 3-point% was 34.1 and dropped to 31.6. He averaged 228 rebounds a year and he dipped to 107, his steals also took a massive hit from 94 a year to 38. His assist also took a large hit. Ever since his injury he has lost his explosiveness and does not have the same impact player that he was.

stems

hes not a center and hes too skinny, he has trouble with lateral movement mcgee and monroe destroyed him and hes always in foul trouble. this cant be what we have in mind at center if so i’d tell danny and doc to lay to crack pipe down

big man

Are the C’s going to get another center soon? Someone that was waived perhaps. Is there anything going on with the fella waiting until after the holidays?

JO...

has shown us what he has left in the tank. He can be effective at times but unfortunately not enough. A thought occurred to me that at least for now start JO, reduce his time but maintain his ego, then give Steamer more minutes as well as Wilcox. Keep JO healthy and I think he’ll come through for the C’s during the post season.

It’s either that or the C’s will need to trade or sign for a big. Dampier and Pryzbilla are not signed(last I knew) and can be effective off the bench at a min contract. Thoughts???

As for Arenas, yes he has scoring ability but how is his health? He’s had some serious issues mentally and physically. Could he be used like the C’s used Sam Cassel?

Pryzbilla

Is there any word on him? He might be a great fit for the C’s. When he was healthy this dude could block shots. He and MP could have some fun winning with the Celtics.
