Gotta hand it to Leandro, he comes off sounding very mature and realistic here. He's got a lot of guards ahead of him on the depth chart, but that doesn't deter him.
"One thing I will give him credit for (is) I think he had us zeroed in on his radar, and he understood all the players in front of him, and he didn’t care," the coach said. "He kept saying that, which is refreshing. You know, ‘I understand that I may not play or I may play, but I’m going to be on a team that, if I can play, I want to help.’ "I was very honest with him. You know, there’s a chance with the numbers… and he said, ‘I’m not here to ruffle any feathers. I just want to be on a team that wins, and hopefully I can help.’"
With the way injuries have bitten this team in recent years, I wouldn't be surprised if he was needed to play a significant role at some point, but it is nice that he's willing to wait his turn if that doesn't happen.
