Kris Joseph practices with Celtics

Stay connected for news and updates

Yesterday, Kris Joseph practiced with the Celtics. Yes, he's still assigned to the Maine Red Claws along with Fab Melo. However, because of the new one-to-one affiliation between the Claws and Celtics, they can now shuttle players back and forth as many times as they want.

So, with the Red Claws not playing again until Friday night, the C's elected to bring Joseph and Melo back up to be around the team. "They don't have a game, and we don't have a lot of players," coach Doc Rivers said. "The greatest part about [the single-team affiliation with the Red Claws] is it's an hour-and-a-half drive, and they can drive up and practice and go back home -- I don't know what [Joseph] calls home, Boston or Maine, but it's been a pretty good thing so far for us."

Apparently Doc said that he didn't need any more bigs to practice with, so Melo wasn't necessary.
