The Celtics announced today that they have recalled forward Kris Joseph from the Maine Red Claws: on.nba.com/Skeqa2
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) November 30, 2012
KJ has been killing it up in Maine. Over the last two games with the Red Claws, he's "averaged 25.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block in two games while on assignment." Those are D-League numbers of course, but the kid's clearly got game. This is just one of the advantages of the Celtics having an affiliate solely dedicated to them; not only can they call up players to fill in circumstances like tonight, but head coach Mike Taylor runs the same stuff that Doc runs with Boston, so it's not like Kris Joseph and Fab Melo are just up there playing pick up games. They're getting valuable playing time and learning the system.
And for what it's worth, the MRC are facing the Laker affiliate D-Fenders tonight and their giveaway is a "BEAT LA" t-shirt. Tell me that isn't awesome?
