After watching last nights game, are there any bloggers out there who still say that Pau Gasol would be a terrible idea for the Celtics??? Stats for last nights game - 41 min, 25pts, 12/20 (60%), 14rbs, 4 orb, 10 drb, 3 ast, 2 blk, 2 to, 1 foul. His season stats, playing for a new coach, new system, new teammates ( no odom or s. brown ) and after being involved in an almost trade are 17 pts, 10 rbs, 3 ast, 1.3 blk, 0.7 steals, 21 per shooting 51%, 79%ft. Yes, he is 31.??!! How old were KG and RAllen when they came here??? There is only one thing that matters to a true Celtic fan, CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!

Here is a way to make it happen.

RONDO, ONEAL to the Lakers for Pau Gasol & this years Lakers first.

BASS, DOOLING, Laker 1st, LAC 1st to HOUSTON for Courtney Lee SG, Goran Dragic PG (who was tutored by Steve Nash), Jordan Hill C/PF

Why for the Celtics & Lakers??? That is obvious, and has been discussed multiple times on this site, no need to rehash it yet again.

Why for the Rockets? The rockets did not extend any of these three players, they have openly sought trades, they also acquire 2 additional firsts in a loaded draft, giving them three picks and the flexibility to trade up, plus they gain 6.5 m in cap space or use BBass in a s/t.

Our roster for this year would then look like this:

KG,Gasol,Pierce,Allen,Dragic 2nd JHill,Wilcox,Pietrus,C.Lee,Bradley, 3rd Stiemsma,JJJ,Pavlovic,Daniels,Moore. We could have plenty of flexibility going forward next year. (note: courtney lee, goran dragic, and jeff green need to be signed)

WHAT YOU THINK? PS, I HATE the Lakers, BUT I want another championship!!!!!!!

i dont get why we would do the houston part

we give up picks to rent guys for a year and if we dont win the championship we are sunk
i think it makes more sense to send rondo and bass for bynum then send bradley and either dooling or stiemsma for augustine

Rondo
Bryant
SF
Bass
Gasol
So it makes sense for them but I doubt they do it

We wouldn't be renting them...

We would have their bird rights, enabling us to match and sign both CLee & GDragic. We would have a young core going forward that are young and talented at an affordable price.
Goran Dragic is 26 years old, 6’3" 190 PG with a 15.46 PER, 3 yr player, 46% ,30% 3pt, career 37% 3pt, 77%ft, was stuck behind Nash in PHO, now stuck behind Kyle Lowery. Courtney Lee is 26 years old, 6’5" 200 SG with a 14.23 PER, 3 yr player, 47%, 38% 3pt, 87%ft
Jordan Hill is 24 years old, 6’10" 240 C/F with a 14.59 PER, 2 year player.
Our core of young, athletic players going forward would look like this
PG Dragic, 26yo,Bradley 22yo,
SG C. Lee 26yo, E. Moore 23yo,
SF J. Green 26yo, Pietrus 31yo, (if brought back)
PF JJohnson 24yo,
C J. Hill 23yo, Stiemsma 27yo
1st round pick, second round pick.

OLDER VETERANS;
C/F Pau Gasol 32yo
PF KGarnett 36yo (bench/mentor 1 yr deal)
SF Pierce 35yo
SG R. Allen 37yo (bench 2 year deal)

THIS WAY, next year would have very little roster turnover, allowing the development of our young core, provide kg, Allen, pierce another chance to win the championship.

Unrestricted Free agents

C. lee and G. dragic both unrestricted at end of season, if traded before the deadline, new time retains bird rights.

You couldn’t get Augustine for a dooling or a Bradley. No way does LA trade Bynum for anyone other than Dwight Howard, while they already tried to trade Gasol.

Actually you could get Augustine for that. He wont be back with charolette next year because they have kemba so they could rent him out to get Bradley they get worse this year so they get a better pick and they rent dooling to replace him so kemba doesn’t have to play all 48 minutes

We have crap to trade maybe just maybe we can trade KG for Kaman so we can move on with JJ to start for the future. This year is lost get real ……… the wheels are flat …….

Every single scenario I’ve seen on this post is not only impossible and downright stupid, but it doesn’t make sense from a basketball perspective. Gasol doesn’t want to come to Boston. Courtney Lee and who?? Gordan Dragic???

Gasol is under contract for two years, his contract expires the same time as Pierce, he has no choice if he was traded, why do you think he was upset to be included in the proposed CP3 trade, LA has made it clear they WILL trade him to get a top PG. As to Courtney Lee and Gordan [sic] Goran Dragic, do you even watch basketball¿¿¿¿¿?? Two very talented players stuck in backup roles behind Lowery and Martin. IF we made this deal, we could get arrested for grand theft larceny.

You think they are d-league players????? What games are you watching????

Courtney Lee is 28th ranked SG in the league Hollinger PER in a backup role, playing for his third coach in three years. (By the way, there are only 30 teams in the NBA)

Goran Dragic is the 32nd ranked PG in the league, also playing in a backup role, playing for his third head coach in four years.

For either of these players to be able to play as well as they do, 2pt%, 3pt%, ft%, playing limited minutes, AND changing offensive and defensive schemes every year speaks to the TALENT that they possess. In comparison R.Rondo has the benefit of playing with the same coach and big 3 for 5 years now and he still can’t shoot a three or a free throw.

As to LA trading Gasol, they have already tried to do EXACTLY that and had D. Stern not pulled the rug on the trade, he wouldn’t have even played in LA this year!!!

IT’S COMMENDABLE that you take the time to read and post on this blog BUT please do a little researching or watching the NBA before you call the 28th ranked SG, and the 32nd ranked PG, NBA D-LEAGUERS, it is not fair to the players….

LEE – JRICH,L.BARBOSA,R.HAMILTON,W.MATTHEWS,J.MEEKS,R.FERNANDEZ,D.GREEN,G.HENDERSON, B.GORDON,L.FIELDS,K.THOMPSON.

DRAGIC – R.SESSIONS, I.THOMAS, J.HOLIDAY, D.COLLISON, JJ BAREA, J.LUCAS, KEMBA WALKER, D.HARRIS, R.FELTON

Just because a player is stuck behind a starter, that doesn’t indicate that the player can’t be a starter on the right team. Jeremy Lin was cut from Golden State and the Houston rockets and was stuck in the fourth spot on the Knicks, almost cut, got a chance to play. Look at the team now.
