Look to Denver
I have mentioned this before on other posts, and i'm sorry to sound repetitive. I am all for finding a dominant center, but have little faith in getting one. This post assumes that we keep Rondo for now (although still willing to trade). I also assume that either kG and RA will be gone or second unit guys next year.. I have also said many times that we need guys that can create offense with the dribble. If we could get a jumpstart on this process, I would start with Denver. Much like Pekovic in Minny, I think Mosgov is going to be a really good center, that is 7"1 and can run and shoot. He could be available because of Nene and Koufus just signing. Then wilson chandler will be back from China--- leaving them with some great (and big) guards and small forwards. If we could get one of the following (afflalo, brewer, chandler) with Mosgov for Bass,Bradley or Moore, and JO expiring, (+ 2nd rd pick?) it would be potentially great now and in the future. Then throw #1 pick or Rondo or combination of such for other pieces (center)---- or just sign some via FA. (Green,Ilaysova, etc). This may leave out pietrus, but the extra length and athleticism would be tempting. Again, these are small moves that assume we can't make a huge splash (you know which one...)
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

My opinion
Sign supporting talent now then go all out this year. Why throw away a chance at a title (I admit it’s not a 100 percent chance but things can happen, check us in 2009). Don’t throw away our shot this year, sign some support and don’t trade away our chemistry. Start a rebuild if you want to this summer, not now.
OK
I did mention this for NEXT year, though if at the trade deadline we are floundering at or near .500- I don’t think the loss of any or all of the above players would do us any harm. We have had Rondo, Bass, Allen out for stretches and did just fine (better, some would say). All over the NBA, guys are stepping up and showing that they can play when given the chance. I think we rely on the notion that younger guys just don’t compare to our big three. In some ways they don’t, but in some ways they can be better. While JJJ may not have the defensive presence that kG does, his jumping and running ability may negate that aspect on the other end. RA hits threes, but a guy like afflalo/chandler can drive- get to the line, and create for others. When one door closes, another one opens.
i would like
Afflalo.. I just can’t see Denver giving him up for a ray allen. They have what boston wants, young athletic players. With veterans who can A. Produce when needed. B. Not highly over paid
Wasn'tsaying RA for Afflalo
i was just saying maybe we could piece together something for him and mosgov. I’m sure they might like some low post versatility (bass) and maybe a big guy filler if they would part with mosgov. might involve a pick or something….
so moore and oneal for mozgov and afflalo
sounds like a fantastic trade for us
i do like the idea of getting mozgov though and i think they would love to get a true young power foward so maybe they would be willing to do mozgov for bass

yes
the original post says yes, you would have to include bass— he is the reason they would do it— they have all other positions filled for the most part. What we lose in Bass (who may walk next year) we gain in two areas. Even C. brewer at 6’9 (great defender and athlete) would be a possibility—- but I’d rather have Chandler or Affalo. If Rudy F. rebounded and defended better he would fit with Rondo well, but…..Mosgov is a sleeper for most people.
oh i read it wrong
i read bass, bradley or moore not bradley or moore, and bass

Then
If at the deadline we are struggling— a trade: Milwaukee gets Rondo, Miles.
Utah gets Moore, Ilyasova, Daniels. Boston gets (PGP Jennings and © Favors.
Starting lineup: Jennings, Pierce, Afflalo/Chandler, KG, Mosgov
2nd unit: Bradley, RA, Pietrus, JJJ, Favors. Next year we add FA or draft picks to the mix. Just thinking…
Ok.. if that happens I do it. Favors, Afflalo & Jennings for basically rondo. Yeah. Boston is in. Utah? Probably not. Milwaukee or Denver ?
yeah--
i originally thought bradley, Ilyasova and Pav or daniels. Either way, they might need a pick or two (2nd rounders?)— but then i counted Bradley and Moore in the trades (OP and last entry). The main point is I think we could even give up our latest #1 pick instead of Bradley- and still come out ahead— especially if you count on RA and kG to both return. If neither does, then both draft picks are worth keeping.
Speaking of trading with Denver.....
How about Dooling for Rudy Fernandez….
I’m not comfortable with Daniels, Pavlovic and Pietrus behind the Truth.
Or we could grab Fernandez and Mozgov
for O Neal.

or
Blake Griffin for o’neal
Why would Denver give up 2 for 1. When the 1 is o’neal its not Shaq in 99. It’s JO 2012
and
They need to clear roster space for Chandler and maybe J R Smith as well.
They get a large expiring (O Neal ) for an unproven center, who no one knows is good or not and a guy they spent a 2016 2nd on and will not be using very much next month when Chandler returns along with Gallinari
Rudy is (in my opinion) good but I wouldn’t mention him with Shaq and Griffin. let’s give him a shot and find out. and of course we need a cheap BIG, even if he is untested. The salaries almost match.

Keep the big three
O’Neal for the Birdman he’s more active that should work. Let’s face it nobody wants to trade with us. Another idea would be package O’Neal, Daniels and Bradley or a #1 for Kaman…….
IF
we were to give up a #1, it wouldn’t be for Kaman— We could get Mosgov and Brewer for that and O’neal expiring— and be set for awhile.
maybe
Afflalo is a bit of a reach (unless you include a #1 pick)— but Brewer and Mosgov is reasonable for what I described. Denver could use Bass this year, and he likely could stay because of his skillset. One thing is for sure—Denver is log-jammed at these positions. Even if we just push for Mosgov now I would be happy, cause I don’t think we will have a shot at him later (see Pekovic).
if i had to trade rondo, i would do something like..
I would do pierce for chandler, mozgov and a pick…don’t know if salaries match.
Than move rondo, JO to la for gasol, ebanks. Than move gasol, daniels to Houston for buddinger, scola and a pick. Trade bass & dooling to okc to add depth at important positions for a pick and a filler contract.
Mozgov, Scola, stiemsma @ c
Kg, scola, jjj @ PF.
Chandler, ebanks, buddinger @ sf.
ray, Buddinger, Moore @ sg.
Bradley, Moore, @ pg.
3 picks giving boston 5 1st round picks. Use 2 of them in the draft.., Barnes, rivers, drummond, lamb, fab melo, kidd ghilcrist, kris Joseph, the rest trade to teams for restricted FA. Like – Eric Gordon,
Let kg, ray walk to go after a Big man in FA. That free’s up all major contracts.
Next year have a young, athletic team
Gordon, scola, buddinger, chandler, ebanks, jjj, Bradley, Moore, green, 2 (bigs or PG) picks plus the free agent signing (bigs or pg)
