Kevin Garnett Injury Status Upgraded For Wednesday's Game
(SB Nation Boston, Jay King) Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett participated in the team's Wednesday morning shoot-around and has been upgraded from doubtful to probable for Wednesday night's game against the Detroit Pistons.
Garnett missed Tuesday's practice with a hip flexor that Doc Rivers said was not serious, and trainer Ed Lacerte initially suggested to Rivers that Garnett could miss two to three days.
Mickael Pietrus (knee) likewise returned to the court for shoot-around after missing Tuesday's practice. Pietrus, who had been doubtful for Wednesday, said "of course" he's going to play. But Rivers did not seem quite so positive.
Jermaine O'Neal also called himself good to go for Wednesday. The center (sore shoulder) missed Sunday's home victory against the Chicago Bulls, but returned to practice Tuesday. Though admitting Tuesday he is not yet 100 percent, O'Neal noted that players have to play through injuries, especially during this condensed season.

Be smart...
…and just let the injured guys rest. I never understood the need to rush players back for a regular season game. If it’s 50-50 whether they can play or not then they should sit and rest a little longer.
You are acting as if regular season don't count...
This regular season counts (considering the way we started the season) and I say if players can play through minor injuries, they should. We don’t have games to throw away…no more. So we have to do all we can to rack up as many wins as we can.

You’re right Clench. It would be great to rest players, but the Celts current record doesn’t give players the luxury to rest, sadly.

Play him but be smart
If we are blowing them out ,or they are blowing us out …then take KG out ….and don’t leave him in there on his 5-5-5 plan. Sometimes Doc will leave starters in the 4th Qtr too long …..it’s tough job and a tough call I know, but I hope we do both …play him as much as necessary but maybe not as much we want to see him.
Is it Soup Yet?
At this point, the Celtics should not worry about getting HCA.
- seed, condensed season, injuries piling up on not only the Celtics…take little rest if injuries are minor.
Do the impossible and start upsetting Miami, Philadelphia, and hopefully New York in the Eastern Conference Finals!
I would probably gun for the 6th seed.
Better to avoid Chicago and Miami in the opening round.
I wouldn't play him...
Is ti just me, or does he always seem to hurt himself against Detroit!???
Given the opponent.....
We should easily get a victory. But with this team, you never know.
KG should probably start. If it seems we can handle Detroit w/o KG, then let him rest after the opening quarter.
