REALISTIC TRADE IDEA
So I was screwing around with the ESPN NBA Trade Machine and i came up with what i thought was a pretty good deal. Obviously, the money works out cuz that's basically all the trade machine does but i also threw in draft picks which you cant do on the machine so tell me what you think....
UTAH JAZZ GET:
sg Ray Allen
pf Brandon Bass
c Jermaine Oneal
Boston Celtics 1st Rd Pick
LA Clippers 1st Rd Pick (Top 10 Protected)
This deal really works out for both sides. The Jazz aren't really getting it done right now and probably want to dump salary. JO and Ray wouldnt be on the Jazz past this year, so the Jazz would have their $16 mill for this offseason (not to mention the $14mill from Big Al) and it allows Derrick Favors to get into the starting lineup, who has showed a lot of promise as of late. Also, Brandon Bass takes Favors' old role. So, they dont lose TOO much this year and are in better shape to rebuild a mediocre team since Deron left.
BOSTON CELTICS GET:
pf Al Jefferson
sg Raja Bell
Utah Jazz 1st Rd Pick.
This deal really works out for both sides. We lose the 2 1st Rnd. picks but we acquire a pick that will probably be better than either of the 2 we had before. ALSO, we give the Celtics a chance to win it all THIS YEAR without jeopardizing the future. That would give us a starting lineup of pg-RRondo, sg-MPietrus, sf-PPierce, pf-AJefferson, c-KGarnett. This starting lineup would be MUCH better. KG has surprisingy been dominant at Center and this brings in a pure scoring power forward. Also, you still have a pretty good bench in Wilcox (current Bass mins), Bell (current pietrus mins), Dooling(more mins), Bradley (more mins), Tre-J (JaJuan/Current Wilcox mins), Moore, Pavlovic, Daniels & Stiemsma. PLUS, we still have Kgs ridiculous salary coming off the books at the end of the yr so we can still give out a max contract to someone and now it's a little more inticing for that FA (Dwight's a pipe dream, i know, but you know thats who i want). Next year you build around Rondo, Pierce, Big Al, Max Contract Guy and Jeff Green (who comes back for one year at a cheap salary because of how-well we handled his situation and to re-establish himself).
tell me what you think......
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Bell sucks, not worth it.
Al gives the team a legit post option, but defensively it doesn’t help our problems in the middle, or in rebounding.
All in all, I think this trade is a step back this year for the C’s, and no better for the future, so I don’t like it.

How wouldnt it help rebouding
in the games JO decides to play, he doesnt rebound at all. Averages 5.3. Big Al averages 9.1. and Raja is a throw-in cuz hes sick at defense. id cut Sasha for himand go add someone like Przybilla.

the jazz pick goes to minnesota if they arent in the lottery but if golden state isnt top 7 pick then the jazz get their pick

The title should be unrealistic trade idea
I don’t get why the Jazz would want to give up both Al and a lottery pick for old guys and a role player. I can’t see them trading Al he’s been too good for them and they can afford him. They actually still have a shot at making the playoffs.
I mean, I would do it, even if we have to give up both draft picks and get none in return, but it’s not that realistic.
This is absolutely reasonable
and Al Jefferson is a good-to-great player. Bell is worthless.
I don’t hate the idea, but in my heart of hearts I’m more excited about the draft picks.

Sorry, I mean the picks. That’s what the picks are for.
