Don't wait for Dwight when the chance is slim. Trade that makes the celtics better now, and for years to come

Why wait for Dwight Howard in free agency when in the back of our heads we all know he doesn't want to come to Boston. Other than Paul Pierce, Ray Allen is the only player that has value to any other team out of the big 3, and me being a life long celtic fan i certainly don't want to see PP go. We Also need a center. someone who can rebound, block shots, score, and play D all in one. who better to bring back to boston the big AL JEFFERSON. Though Jefferson might not be Dwight Howard he is definitely a VERY GOOD plan b.

Boston line up

PG :Rondo/Bradley/Moore

SG:Ellis/Pietris/pavlovich

SF: PP/Daniels

PF:KG/JJ/Wilcox

C: Jefferson/Stiemsma

Thats a pretty good line up in my opinion, enough to make a run in this years playoffs. i think Monta will give into Docs system of defense. Not to mention with the return of Jeff Green next year will give us the deepest team in the league. Also with KG's expiring Contact we will have money to get one more piece.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

Your fandom is appreciated.

But your loyalty should be to the Boston Celtics, not Paul Pierce.

If we could get, as some on these forums have proposed, something like Paul George, OJ Mayo, or Charlotte’s 2015 or 2016 pick for Pierce we would be stupid not to think carefully about it, unless we think this Big 3 has another title run in them (but apparently Ainge doesn’t think so.)

I would expect some trades.

Paul George

If we could get Paul george for anything we have to do it the guy is like 6’10 now and hes a sg/sf combo he’s a future superstar

I exaggerated he’s not 6’11 yet but he’s still growing I read he grew two inches since last season

Just because salaries match doesn’t mean teams are just going to throw us all star players for scrubs and a half year rental of Allen. I’m sorry but this trade makes no sense whatsoever for Utah. Jefferson and CJ Miles are way too much to give up for a broken down, unproductive JO and another PF that they don’t need with Millsap and Favors already there.

I doubt GS gives up Monta for that collection of players either, unless they’re commited to getting rid of him and can’t find any better deals by the trade deadline and that’s highly unlikely.

Why do the Jazz do this?

i just wanted to throw this out there mostly as a joke but just something i was laughing about to myself.
if we traded both pierce and rondo to the lakers for bynum and their two first round picks we would have room to sign both dwight and deron. the rest of our team would be made up of johnson moore bradley and the 5 picks we would have this draft so basically our team would have the two best centers on the floor plus a top 3 point guard and a bunch of young guys. our offense and rebounding would be amazing (who can cover both dwight and bynum) and our defense would be pretty good they couldnt score on us in the paint and we would have bradley and williams on the guards. obviously this wont happen but it would still be pretty cool to see

Lol. That'd be pretty hilarious.

I’m not a fan of Deron though. His terrible fg%… I already know that’s would frustrate me to no end if he ever came to Boston. Bynum and Howard down low would be unstoppable though.

shit

bradley sucks he cant even run the offense, guy cant dribble, shoot, or pass, marqand pavs are junk, moore aint no pg at all. all those line ups are a joke thats the reason were not winning because of these bum bench players. i dont want al jeffeson hes a loser and sometimes puts up stats then disappears. jj is too thin they be beating him down on defense like he not even on the court, monroe destryed him, eat some damn meat and bulk up. i could bring my boyzs back and beat them bums of a line up. i say hll no i dont like none of it

Man the NBA would be awesome if all the other teams were just Celtic farm teams and you could just rip them off in trades like this one, wouldn’t it?

Good God if Ainge even offered this trade he gets hung up on before he can finish talking.

It’s worked for the Lakers all these years.

by slamdunk1 on Feb 19, 2012 8:11 PM EST up reply actions

Lol I stopped taking it seriously when I saw Ellis

The warriors probably would consider the trade if they want to get out from Ellis’s contract/shadow. The Jazz get almost no talent and get the positions they need the least. They have a much better undersized forward than bass (milsap) and Jefferson is much better than JO, they also want to develop Kanter as a PF/C why give JO minutes. A team based on Ellis and Al would score 100+ points and give up 120+.

SAD Circumstances

LOOKS like another 20 years——unless Celtics can find a 4 leaf clover again -how they put together Parrish, McHale and Bird one year-can they do it again? Players are too old and Ainge is not moving fast enough…….
