RONDO FOR GASOL? WHY?

Ok let's make believe this is actually going to happen.

WHY THIS DEAL WILL HAPPEN:

The Lakers are under pressure. They are currently in a degree of turmoil relative to new family member taking the ownership reins. The Clippers are kicking ass. Fisher is 53 years old and OKC looks very tough. This is the kind of situation that Danny wants to get the most value for whomever he trades. McHale was under pressure with KG, Danny assembled the assets and voila, a banner.

The Lakers and the Celtics are good potential trading partners, both franchises are under the gun and have a couple of assets.

Why Rondo?

Danny has made it clear he values Rondo's potential trade value more than his play. Ainge is the GM, HIS perception is all that matters. Rondo is his one and only "chip." All star player, good contract.

Why Gasol?

They want Howard. They don't want Howard. Gasol isn't young. The Lakers will keep Bryant and Bynum, everyone else is available. The Lakers need a point guard....badly. They can't beat, OKC, Clips, SA or Dallas. Don't rightly know.

Why would Danny do this trade?

AINGE WANTS A 32 YEAR OLD BIG MAN WITH A LARGE CONTRACT?

The only reason that makes any sense to me is if he plans a trade for Gasol.

Is Gasol a more valuable trade asset for Ainge to use in rebuilding this team than Rondo? Don't know.

Danny has a deal somewhere for Gasol? Where? How? When? Some team that needs Gasol and already has a point guard? Well? Who else? What will Danny get? I would assume someone young?

IS THERE ANOTHER PART OF THIS DEAL?

What do the Lakers have? As far as I can see nothing...unless there is some kind of expiring contract that Ainge could add to the two he has already?

Conclusion:

If a three way deal is in the works this deal might happen. If Gasol is going to come and play for Boston? This is barking at the moon. Ainge does not have $18M for an old guy.
