Celtics interested in Michael Beasley?
According once again to Peter Vecsey, the Celtics may be interested in forward Michael Beasley, currently playing for the Timberwolves:
Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman recently committed to boosting Derrick Williams’ minutes, making Beasley extraneous. Minnesota is pushing hard to relocate his $6.2 million expiring contract and have the Nets and Celtics leaning.
This could be interesting cause I wonder whose spot would Beasley take in our team, provided any of this rumor was true. This little intriguing comment is in the middle of a quite worthy reading article, at least to gear up for the craziness that may surround March 1 deadline.
As for the state of the Pau Gasol rumors, Vecsey adds the following:
Meanwhile, back at the trading post, some deals may actually be getting close to finalization and the Lakers are in middle of them. They’re determined to acquire a point guard sooner than two weeks from now. If it’s a multi-player transaction, Pau Gasol will be sacrificed. Should the Magic change their mind about accepting Andrew Bynum for Howard (Pau’s inclusion might do it), Jameer Nelson would almost have to be part of the package unless an above-average ball-handler can be obtained elsewhere.
It seems the Lakers are anxious to get something done, particularly on their double PG dilemma (adding a Point Guard and dealing Pau Gasol). If a deal with Orlando doesn´t happen (ideally for them they would grab Howard and Nelson from the Magic) they may try hard to pry Rajon Rondo from the Celtics...and it may happen sooner than later.
.......... I hope so, he can provide the scoring punch we need. Green, Beasley and Rondo could form a nice young core.
