After all the millions KG and Ray Allen have made, I think two of the most important things to them are competing for a championship, and stability. Of course money plays into all this, but if they were in a position to compete for a championship while being certain of their futures, I think they would be willing to take significantly less money than "what they are worth". If one of them were to have a significant injury or completely go downhill, you can still use the amnesty to allow flexibility. So here is what I am proposing Danny attempt:
1) Resign KG and Ray with significant pay cuts, but give them a no-trade clause. One or two years for KG. Two year with team option for 3rd for Ray.
2) Trade Rondo plus whatever picks necessary (maybe include JJJ) for Dwight Howard
3) Attempt to sign Deron Williams to max contract.
My question is.. how much of a discount would a no trade clause get you? And, would you start with a D12 trade first, or wait until KG and Ray are on board?
