This is an idea I had today and have never really heard. I dont know how possible it is but it just came to my mind and I figured I'd share it with you guys.
So here is the deal. This Celtics core is pretty good. Rondo, Ray, the Truth, and KG are all great players. The team should have a very good chance of going into the finals if Miami and Chicago were so freaking good. Boston right now is for me the 3rd best team in the east (and by far). yes they will lose some ugly games but it will happen. So if this core is good, why not go seriously for a final run. My idea will eventuallly hurt the future, but banner 18 is close, you dont know when will u get it after.
My idea is basically trade the future for the present. What does this involve? trading 2012 picks and everyone who is not part of the 9-man rotation doc established. We could go for players that would help us compete right now. Say something like both 2012 first rounders and etwan for Deandre Jordan. Or one first rounder etwan and JaJuan for Tyson Chandler. Something like that. Or JO and JaJuan for Beasley. Those kind of trades ar what I'm thinking. Having a 5 like Jordan or Chandler would improve us a lot. Having a scorer of the bench like Beasley, along with Bass and Petrus would also be great. You could also make a package with picks, rookies and maybe even Bradley for Monta Ellis or some other scoring guy like Harden (though OKC will never trade that guy). Trades like this will hurt the future yes, maybe even kill all the cap space yes. But banner 18 could really be close woth some trades like ths. It could be closer than we could imagine.
So this was the idea that came to my head today. Maybe you will hate it, and maybe even I will hate it tomorrow, but I wanted to share it with you and see your opinion. What do you think?
