After our recent surge, I have partially changed my thoughts on our future. Admittedly, I was not completely sold on rondo, and was skeptical at best when the subject of keeping kg and Allen was raised. But, with the knowledge that Bradley can be a starting pg, and that we can succeed with kg at center, I think we can stay competitive next year by few simpler moves. These thoughts come with the assumption that we can't/won't get a center of any star quality, and the names are familiar with my earlier thoughts. We can then collect assets and/or save cap space for future free agent signings in coming year(s).
First, we keep kg at center (2year fair contract). Next sign green to a one year contract to back up pierce. Let bass go and sign illaysova (same ppg, better rebounder, and 46 percent 3pt shooting and 6'10 in four less min per game). Let allen walk, keep pietrus behind Bradley. Sign another center for depth/options... (Denver has three pretty athletic guys-maybe mosgov or koufos or just draft melo or moultrie). May need another creator for 2guard depth unless Moore is in the plan. Pick up a vet pg (not named dooliing) who can score if needed.
First unit... Rondo, Bradley, pp, illyasova, garnett
Second unit...vet pg, pietrus, green, johnson, gs / other big
Draft picks round out the team .... Must include one guy who can create off of the dribble
Our first unit is a transition dream.. And our second unit is pretty good if (big if) green and jjj can step up.
What do you think.... (I know it is far away, but just thinking about it .. Unless we win it all, then forget you saw this)
