Ray Allen, Paul Pierce Will Play In Game 1 Against Sixers

Ray Allen will play in Game 1.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers confirmed prior to tonight's Game 1 against the Philadelphia 76ers that Ray Allen -- and everyone else -- will be available.

"Everybody's good," Rivers said.

Allen was originally described as a game-time decision, as he's still fighting the pain from the bone spurs in his right ankle. While he was limited in practice this week, Rivers said he'd be good to go for Game 1.

"Ray's doing all right," the coach said. "He didn't go to practice yesterday and didn't even go through shootaround, but he felt better this afternoon."

As for Paul Pierce, who continues to battle a sprained MCL, nothing has changed. He's still hurt, and he's still playing through it.

"He told me he felt a little better, so that's good," Rivers said of Pierce. "Listen, they know what the situation is, and they want to play. We need them, obviously, so that's good."
