Out With the Old in With the New

Unlike Danny Ainge I want youth on the C's team, and this may make me sound like a bad-fan, but I could care less what KG or Ray Allen did this offseason; in fact I'd rather have them leave. Kevin Garnett is considering retirement, and I hope this is the path he chooses, for I can see Garnett slowing down (which he should, he's a 17 yr vet and a sure-fire Hall of Famer) and I don't want a disappointing final year for KG (everyone remembers what you do your last year, for example Brett Favre in the NFL) in 2012-2013. I also believe not resigning Garnett leaves even more room to sign big free agents but I'll get to that later. For now onto Ray Allen; sure he can shoot a three darn well, but he's getting up there in age too. In present day I think Ray Allen can be replaced by a draftee, Avery Bradley or a free agent pick-up (I would really like the C's to get OJ Mayo). Let Allen go to Miami or Los Angeles; whever he wants to go to. My hopes for the OJ Mayo signing may be slim, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. If they were to sign OJ it would not take up a majority of the cap-room, and it would give Rondo a solid back-up just in case... Talking about unlikely options the Celtic's could do, trading LA Pau Gasol for one of the first round picks is one! This gives Boston a solid Center which they don't currently have, and with the other first round pick they are most likely to get Andrew Nicholson or Royce White (both power forwards, though I would prefer Royce White); it's a win-win situation for the C's. Whoever gets drafted could play PF if Brandon Bass isn't resigned(I'm banking on the fact the C's get one of the two guys), and Pau gives you a center. OJ gives you a shooting guard, and boom the C's look like a dangerous team again (this is my opinion of course). So my imaginary starting line-up would look like: C: Pau Gasol PF: Royce White/ Andrew Nicholson SF: Paul Pierce SG: OJ Mayo PG: Rajon Rondo I am one of the few Celtics fans who thinks two of the Big Four should leave, so I am up for criticism by others that disagree.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.
