Ray Allen ..."at the end of the day"... I will take the ethos of KG

In my still feeble attempt to search "out there" for a Ray of Hope in pure authenticity, I once again come back limping. I don't know Ray Allen's private thoughts, and yes, he impressed me with his professionalism that keeps our world from spinning to a hell and hand basket. Now, I do not know, if it was his stated intention to demonstrate Unbuntu, but he certainly lead us to believe that is what he was about.

I harken back not to all of the Big Three comments when they first got together about shared sacrifice, but more recently as to Ray's comments about David West not accepting the assignment with Boston.

Now I was prepared to write all sorts of psychological retorts on what happen here, but owner Wyc Grouseback summed it simply as any good business person could: Ray Allen had a number (a dollar amount) ; if the Celtics hit that dollar amount and years, he would have dealt with all the other misgivings. He would have dealt with being dangled with trades; dealt with coming off the bench; dealt with issues with Rondo; dealt with basketball philosophy issues - a certain dollar amount would have dealt with ALL THAT.

I am not buying the whole, he took less money to go to Miami; if that was the case he would not have come back with a number and the whole sordid rationales that he can muster makes it all the more absurd.

Which comes back to the old adage that we as humans won't admit int he final analysis is that everyone HAS A PRICE.

Now I still have mad respect for Ray Allen as one of the best two-guards that has played; his work ethic, and his accomplishments; but at the end of the day he gave me the "letter of the law"; while Kevin Garnett give us hope too the ETHOS and the "spirit of the law"- meaning he has demonstrated (ala Tim Duncan) that lays it on the line on and off the court and "takes full responsibility for getting or not getting it DONE..

KG and Doc Rivers embrace at the end of game seven against the Heat said it all, and yes Keeps Hope Alive, that I might one day bear witness to moments of THE PRICELESS ....
