A year ago he was going under the knife. Now he's tomahawking dunks.

I can't even imagine what Jeff Green has been through. He basically had to reboot his body after surgery and it is an amazing thing that he was able to recover and return to playing basketball against the best players in the world. As you might imagine, he was pretty choked up when questioned about it last night.

Green Street " Jeff Green: ‘Just glad to be here, glad to be alive, glad to be playing basketball’

"It felt good. (long pause) I can’t put it into words," Green said. "I mean it’s a wonderful day, I had a good game, I’m just glad to be here man. You know, I reflect a lot about what I’ve been through and it’s just a blessing and I’m glad to be here."

"I don't cry, but it was [emotional]," said Green, seemingly struggling to prevent the tears that would have called his bluff. "A year ago I had heart surgery. I think about lying in bed, when I woke up from it, to where I'm at now. It's a big deal to me. I'm just glad to be here, glad to be alive, glad to be playing basketball."

Great to see him out there. Great to see him getting better. Great to see him out there at all.
