Is Samuel Dalembert an option?

Stay connected for news and updates

Looking at a lot of trade ideas most seem to be slightly over the top in in terms of what's being asked for and given in return.

I'm not so sure that we need to blow the team up in terms of dealing a potential perennial all-star in Rondo to find a piece that helps in one of our more obvious weaknesses.

For mine a more realistic trade option which would fill a need is that of obtaining Samuel Dalembert from the Bucks.

He was frozen out of playing time by Skiles and along with Sanders improvement his game time vanished.

In some ways I think he'd be a great fit for the C's given he's got legitimate length, a decent rebounding/blocking game and can run the court well for a big guy.

In short he's a defensively minded centre who wouldn't demand a lot of shots and is on a friendly contract(expiring 6.6m).

Who would we trade for him? Well the most logical choice is Bass. Bass hasn't really found his game from last season and has struggled for consistency. Also a player(and his game) like him is something the Bucks don't really have and probably need.

The contracts actually match up pretty close so we'd actually drop a few hundred thousand this season and free up 6.5 to near 7 million over the next few seasons.

I like this trade because

a) I think it's more realistic

b) it works out financially

c) we aren't giving up anyone we can't live without

So that's my 2 cents on what I'd like to see us do going forward to address a weakness on our roster.

Interested to know others thoughts on this trade as an option.

Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.
