Why it works:
First of all,it would devastating to see the Captain get traded, however, it would be better for us. Pierce is on the decline but he would be a good fit for Memphis since only 4million from his contract is guaranteed next year. Memphis get the cap space they want and a proven vet. We would receive a young, athletic sf in Gay, plus ge is a friend with Rono.
Next, Josh Smith. The hawks will lose him in the summer, so why not trade him for some depth? Since Harford is better as a PF, the bucks don't use Dalembert (which IMO is a very good center) and have no depth behind Ellis and Jennings (Daniels and Uroh are fine, but that is a huge drop off in term of production), and we have too many guards, so why not send Terry to the Bucks, Dalembert to the Hawks so Harford ca be back in his PF spot. Then the Hawks send Smith us for exchange of bass, sully, and barbosa(since they just lost Williams). The hawks will have a solid rotation of damebert,Harford,Pachulia, bass, and sully (a huge upgrade from what they have now). Barbosa can start at sg until the end of season since that is when Williams come back and his contract expires. In the end, it would be sad to see sully and the Truth to leave but we have a great unit of rondo/Bradley/gay/smith/kg and a bench of lee, green and (hopefully)melo , enough to win a championship and be a legit for the next 5years. As for the need of another big man, don't see it. Thunder, heat, clippers don't have many bigs but they are very good anyway. Thoughts?
