NBA Trade Rumor: Miami may want to trade for Jordan Crawford

USA TODAY Sports

But what will they have to offer in return?

Rumor season is under way.  Here's a little rumor from the NY Daily News' Mitch Lawrence.

Injured Bulls star Derrick Rose is fearful Chicago’s cupboard will soon be bare

Miami is looking to deal for a young wing player who can score and take some of the load off Dwyane Wade. A few GMs have identified Boston’s Jordan Crawford as a player the Heat will go after in the coming days/weeks.

I'm sure that Miami wouldn't mind Jordan Crawford and I'm sure Ainge will listen to offers for him.  They might even make some calls around the league looking to sell high on him.  With Rondo returning and Crawford's role about to be reduced or at the very least changed, it might be a good time to move him.

It isn't clear, however, what the Heat would have to offer the Celtics.  A (very) late first rounder?  Norris Cole? Maybe cobble together a few players for Joel Anthony?  None of that sounds very realistic or appealing.  Unless we're dumping longer term salary on them, I'm not sure they have an attractive trade package for us, but who knows?

Get ready for more of these.  We're two months away from the deadline but things will be busy for the next week or so at least.
