Tired Celtics fall to young Bobcats 94-91

Streeter Lecka

Boston runs out of gas at the end of the game as the Bobcats steal a win.

The Bobcats finished the game on a 7-0 run and won by 3. That's about all you need to know. But I shall try to elaborate some.

The Celtics had a 7 game winning streak headed into the game and the Bobcats had a 7 game losing streak. So of course the Bobcats won this one. Wait, what?

The players won't admit it, but they probably just flat out ran out of gas tonight. Triple overtime plus a flight out shortly after must have made them dog tired (even if they had a couple days off before the Denver game). There was some thinking that Doc should have just given Pierce, KG, and ever Jason Terry the night off. The result couldn't have been much worse.

Speaking of worse, we saw Leandro Barbosa go down with a scary non-contact knee injury. We don't need any more of that. More updates on him when they become available.

Jeff Green, Jason Terry, and of course Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett each had solid games but it wasn't enough to overcome Byron Mullens (of all people) and the rest of the scrappy Bobcats.

Oh well, you can't win them all. Next up are the Chicago Bulls and then the All Star break. They better get their rest because they've got a tough 5 game Western road trip coming up right after.
