Before I begin, I want to repeat what Jason Terry (JET) had said in an interview,
" I'll take experience over youth and athleticism any day.. especially is this league. When its a big game, when its playoffs, when its the NBA Finals, you got to have guys who have been there before."
Now for me, I know the Celtics can still use a Big, especially for KG. Someone who has good experience in the playoffs and a player who plays tough, Kenyon Martin. He's a 6'9", Power Forward and has the toughness as KG. I don't know if he would consider a 10 day workout to prove he can be a Celtic, not mentioning how tight the C's are with the salary. I think they would only have enough to consider the bi-annual, and would also come down to him accepting that offer. All that aside, he would be a great pickup for all the players that have fallen this season so far.
Another player they should be looking for is a guard. Now this player hasn't played in the NBA recently but I think would be good for at least a 10 day workout to see where he's at. I believe he still plays basketball in Turkey, Allen Iverson. He's 6'0, he can play either point or shooting guard. All though I'm not sure if he'll accept the veterans minimum. He could still be a solid player to come off the bench with good experience.
If not Allen Iverson, How about someone like Derek Fisher? A 6'1 point guard that can come off the bench. He has plenty of experience in Big games and has been in plenty of playoff games. Maybe he can accept a 10 day workout and see if he'd be willing to agree to a veterans minimum offer.
All in all, I agree with the JET, we need someone with experience, who can play when the game is on the line. Maybe its not one of those players I've mentioned, maybe it is.
What do you guys think..?
