Hearing all the KG and Pierce rumors. I think if you end up trading KG or Pierce you might as well revamp the whole team around athleticism and defense with a few of the trades that are "supposedly" on the table. If those deals are actually valid our team would look so different but could be quite strong for quite a few years. Here's how it could look if the proposed deals happened:
KG for Bledsoe and Jordan
Pierce and Bass for Josh Smith
Rondo for Dwight Howard.
That would give us a lineup next year of
C) Howard
PF) Josh Smith
SF) Jeff Green
SG) Bradley
PG) Bledsoe
BENCH: Sullinger, Terry, Jordan, Lee, Terrance Williams and Fab Melo. That would leave us room for a FA that we should use on a shooter---JJ Redick.
I'll miss this Celtics team but if we went this way we wouldn't be bad at all. Plus we'd be young with all starters under 30. I think Bledsoe is going to be a star. Howard is a star (once he gets out of LA anyway.) And Josh Smith is 27 so although he may not be great right now he has the potential to be even more of a beast. And talk about a good defensive team.
I'd hate to lose Rondo because he's a stud and would look great throwing an alley-oop to Josh Smith but without Pierce and Garnett he's going to struggle a little as he just doesn't have the Chris Paul like game to carry a team night after night offensively. Plus I can see him getting frustrated if the teams struggles which it probably will in the transition.
Three trades is obviously crazy but if we can swing it I would pull the trigger. Thoughts?
