It's nice that we have KG and Paul Pierce, both as future hall of famers. Nice that we have Rondo as a major celtic player to build our future team with. But KG and Pierce will be retiring very soon.
Now, what the Boston Celtics need is to find and get the next big superstar, a franchise player that will be in line with our great tradition of Boston Celtics players like Bill Russell, Larry Bird and Paul Pierce. I see The Lakers will also be facing the same situation come Kobe retirement (Dwight Howard is a big joke!). I guess Lebron James is not leaving miami in the next ten years or so. Derrick Rose is a bonafide Bulls franchise player. So how do we find our own future franchise player?
Current NBA players now that have all the characteristics of being a franchise player in my own opinion are Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden. These are all go-to-guys especially at the end of play taking last shot after last shot for a team. Kevin Love and Blake Griffin are also monster players that could fit in. But the list is just short and almost impossible for us to get.
So how to we address this problem - the future of the Boston Celtics?
