Maine Red Claws sign Kris Joseph to D-League deal

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Celtics 2012 second round pick Kris Joseph rejoins the Red Claws on D-League contract.

Per a press release from the Red Claws.

The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced that they have acquired forward Kris Joseph. Joseph, who was assigned to the Red Claws earlier this season by the Boston Celtics before being waived Boston on January 6, rejoins the team under an NBA Development League contract.

This doesn't mean that he will be back with the Celtics any time soon. He's still free to sign with any NBA team that offers him a contract. But this might just be a first step toward inviting him in for summer league and training camp next year. Either way, it is nice to see him reunited with Syracuse alum Melo in Maine.
