Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

The front page of the blog is great, but there's also forums in the back.

Now that I've called out the lurkers and convinced you to comment on the front page, allow me to show you around the rest of the blog. I'll start with the forums.

We have kind of a unique blog in the SB Nation family of sites in that we have forums as well as a front page. There's also FanPosts and FanShots and a Chat Room, but we'll get to all those in future posts.

I think most are familiar with the basic premise of forums - you get to start the topics yourself and people are free to respond. They are fundamentally different from the blog format. Neither one is better than the other, but many folks have a clear preference for one or the other and end up spending most of their time in one place or the other.

Mechanically I want to point out a couple of things.

1. User accounts in the forums and the front page are NOT tied. Sadly we haven't figured out how to do that technically. So if you have an account for SBNation (the front page of the blog) you'll still have to sign up for a forums account as well.

2. The forums software has a glitch that we are looking into where it does NOT send out confirmation emails. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The work around for now is for you to sign up for the forums and email someone on the staff that will manually confirm you. Find our emails here. (Roy_Hobbs is in charge of the forums and a great guy) We have to do it this way to avoid a whole lot of spam but we appreciate your understanding.

Hope that clears up any confusing terminology and processes. The rules in the forums are the same as on the front page and everywhere else on the site. Be respectful and have fun.
