If anybody is laughing at the Celtics this season, it would be Ray Allen. After his leaving of Boston, the Celtics were quick to get a replacement in Jason Terry. Some thought that this would even be better for the Celtics. Jason Terry is a bench player and will excel at this role, more so than Ray Allen would! Or that is what we thought. Allen appears to be starting to be getting more and more comfortable in his bench role in Miami, where Jason Terry continues to have a roller coaster ride. Allen's team is also rolling with a historical win streak while Boston continues to lose to bottom level teams in the NBA. After starting many games at the start of the season, due to the Avery Bradley injury, Jason Terry has struggled to maintain any rhythm in Boston. Patience with fans has all but evaporated and the Jet seems to be running on empty fuel. For the very least, fans expected Jason Terry to add a clutch presence on the roster, along side Paul Pierce. Although he has had his moments, Terry has not excited many fans with his performances throughout games or even in the fourth quarter. SG Terry has missed more open shots than fans have expected and I go to pubs hearing fans say, "No! Don't put Terry in for Lee!".
After just reading an article where Jason Terry says he is going to start being more aggressive, one has to wonder what is taking so long? It took him shooting 0-5 in a one point loss to New Orleans for this comment? I love Jason's attitude, but he is not getting it done on the court. This is not to say that Courtney Lee has been lighting the world on fire, but at least Lee gets a few rebounds and is a solid defender.
Celtics fans have to hope that LeBron wasn't right when saying that Jason talks too much. Terry is averaging just eight points per game in his last three games, something you don't want to hear in the last stretch of the regular season. If the Celtics want any chance of going far in the playoffs, fans better be looking for Jet launching off at Logan Airport sometime soon.
