"The Fix" (without sacrificing PP or KG)

CelticsNation, lets be honest with ourselves. Even if every player on the roster came back next year 100% healthy, Boston is only the 4th best Eastern Conference team. We all know that the Pierce/Garnett era is still capable of glory, but drastic changes have to be made. Here is what's needed to make the Celtics return to contender status, without having to trade our heros.

  • Trade for all-star caliber interior scoring. Jump shooting teams don't win championships (regularly).
  • Rebounding. Rebounding. Rebounding. More possessions = Higher scores.
  • Starting backcourt that combines for at least 30 ppg. Rondo/Bradley won't cut it.
  • Bench Scoring. All championship teams have it.

Trade for Ty Lawson and Pau Gasol. http://twitter.com/tyreecook/status/334063947030339584/photo/1

PG. Lawson/Terry

SG Bradley/Lee

SF Green/Pierce

PF Gasol/Sullinger

C Garnett/Mayo

Now, can you imagine Gasol and Garnett together in the post? Or defenses having to deal with Pierce and Terry coming of the bench? Or how about a point guard they actually have to guard? This team generates 100 ppg easily, even within Docs anemic offensive schemes. Also this is a much improved rebounding team and better (bigger) defensively.
