Before I provide my opinion about the whole blow it up talk, here is a disclosure. I am a delusional C’s fan and some of my opinions might be biased but mostly realistic. I look at the Celtics
roster and bench and I see a lot of potential and I do see a few low risk high reward guys a. I see some guys eating up the salary cap space and not living up to expectation. Does the future hall of famer Paul pierce deserve to be back and get 15mil ?- if its up to me, the check is already cut and signed taking into consideration the numbers he put up last season for his age and to me that’s a plus with Jeff green emerging as a STAR and being Consistent.
Rondo is coming of a surgery and sully is doing same, those are players that bring a lot of good to the team, Kg is our defensive anchor, terry wasn’t consistent last season but towards the end of the post season he showed that he can still knock down the 3 ball, he brings the veteran experience as well as championship pedigree. Avery Bradley
as well all know has the tenacious D, so we need that to win a championship. Jordan Crawford
to me has that scoring punch, though we all know his shot selection sometimes could be erratic but i like the guy as a bench player and good scoring option when in need, great role player. Terrence Williams
is terrific and a great ball hander, Randolph hasn’t seen much minutes but I am convinced that if the guy gets about 25 minutes a game he could avg. 9pts 9rebs a game, well those are 3 roles players at low cost. Looking at Wilcox, let him go , Randolph could do better, Dj white, cut him off also, there we shed about 2.5mil or so that could be used to possibly pick up a great PG, decent Big man, or maybe SF like Al-farouq aminu that could give us decent minutes off the bench. We sure need a lot of big men.
I support drafting Dieng out of Louisville, that would be a great fit for the C’s he can knock down 15 foot jumpers and rondo will set him up nicely and since he is a defensive player, after a season player behind KG will turn the guy into a monster. I know all of this sounds so sweet and easy but they aren’t. The main off season move I would love the C’s to pull is a lee & bass package for a starting big man. Bass’s value went up, taking into consideration that he proved last year and this year that he has the capabilities of defending the best player on the court. Lee is due for about 5 million and bas is due for about 7 or 8mill, that’s solid 13mil off the books and we could bring in a good big man to aid our run towards Banner 18. It would hurt my soul to see Pierce in another uniform, but it’s possible.
I would love KG, Pierce to retire Celtics and wouldn’t want Rondo to be traded, the guy is coming off an injury, and my gut tells me Rondo will have an MVP season next year or the year after. Expect rondo to avg. some where around 20pts 10ast 6rebs and shooting over 50% from the field. The guys shot has gotten better before he went down, Rondo will come back a monster and Jeff Green
will make the All star team. We have a promising roster, we have just been unfortunate with injuries and the lack of depth when it comes to Bigs.
