First post ever from a life long Boston Celtics Fan. Mr. Rivers: I have been as loyal a fan can be to my beloved Celtics. I even took a job within a couple of hours of Boston just so I can go watch in person the team I love so much. I'm from Oregon. Do you not know you have one of the best positions in ALL of sports? I hope these LA Clippers rumors are false. I always thought that if we ever lost you as a coach, it would be to Orlando or Miami. Due to the fact of you wanting to be close to family, so I don't understand why LA is even an option. You are doing exactly what Ray Ray and LeGone did? You became a great coach because of the staff around you. Specifically, management giving you the freedom to learn and grow. No body has ever question your passion or heart. And now nobody questions your coaching. You are young why would be rebuilding be such a bad thing? Do you want to be seen as a Phil Jackson? I could win a few rings if I had Shaq, Kobe and the rest of team put around them. Doug Collins is the one that had the team going in the right direction. And just like before, if I had the best player to ever put on basketball shoes and Scottie, I also could have one a few rings with them. I guess what I'm trying to say is you have built your reputation because of your hard work. If you leave to coach another team, you become in my eyes a front runner. It's not about the money, you are already one of the highest paid coaches in the NBA. Honestly, almost every coach we have had since KC jones, I wanted to leave. I don't know why this is bothering me so much. I have only felt this way about players leaving, but not a coach. You have a City, fans, players, media and a management team that all love you. Why would you want to leave? Even Rondo wants you to stay. If you leave it will be a very sad day in Boston sports. Obviously I'm from the outside looking in, but I have a very clear view. I hope you are just being a hard ass, so that Danny stays true with Paul and KG. Mr. Ainge As you already know, have heard, and said yourself you want Paul to retire a Celtic. You know Paul has earned every right to retire a Celtic. I bet most fans would not mind sacrificing one more year for Paul and Kevin and a healthy team to make another run. If you were to say to Paul let me redo your contract for less money and give you a two year contract with a no trade clause he would be all over it. I could see him coming off the bench, playing the end of games and be one of the most dominating 6th man we have seen. I even think KG would play another season after next if Paul does. And you could do the same with him the following year. They both want to retire together so why not let them. They made Celtics basketball legitimate again. They made me want to live near Boston. Just having those guys around the younger players is something that is invaluable. Just think if you didn't have them on the team with a young Rondo. Everybody was upset when Ray left, including myself. But the more I think about it, he was constantly in trade rumors and who wants to play under those conditions. You are already on pace to do the same with Rondo. You got him cheap and he is getting better every year. I think he learned a lot watching the team this year and I bet he will adjust his game and make the team better. With you always making comments about making any trade that would make us better is only good for the average player. You don't trade a Paul or KG for hope or another player who is probably pretty good, but not going to make us a championship caliber team. Doc and Danny, the grass isn't always GREEN on the other side.
