The Jack of all Trades

The Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics have proposed a trade that has Nets fans jumping in joy and Celtics fans scratching their heads. The trade sends Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry to the Nets in exchange for Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Reggie Evans, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans, and 3 future 1rst round picks. So this is it. First Doc goes, then the core of the Celtics leaves right behind him. It truly looks as if the Boston Celtics have entered a rebuilding stage. Rondo and Jeff Green represent the future, or at least Jeff Green does. With Doc, Paul, and KG out, does Rondo really want to stay? While the organization says they are behind Rondo he could be a valuable piece on the open market. From Brookyln's stance, this trade is great. After a promising open season in their new home of Brooklyn, they add a future Hall of Fame coach in Jason Kidd and now 2 more future first-ballot Hall of Famers in KG and Pierce. As of now, the projected 2014 Nets starting lineup looks something like this

PG - Deron Williams

SG - Joe Johnson

SF - Paul Pierce

PF - Kevin Garnett

C - Brook Lopez

A starting 5 comprised of All-Stars. So does this make the Nets the team to beat in the east or do the Heat still stand the favorites? All I can say is this will make for a very interesting season, unless of course Kidd can't control the team and they fall apart like the Lakers. Yeah, remember when the Lakers signed Steve Nash and Dwight Howard and everyone thought they were the team to beat. Well, what happened there? I don't see that happening in Brooklyn though despite the aging. We know Deron Williams and Brook Lopez can hold things down and Joe Johnson and Pierce can still hit shots. KG's probably entering his final season so he will go all out and don't forget about Jason Terry and rookie Mason Plumlee off the bench. I can totally see this Brooklyn team winning 50-60 games this year.
