Rondo/Bass/Wallace to Detroit for Knight/Drummond/Villanueva/Stuckey and a #1 pick AND Humphries/Lee to Houston for Asik

Trade #1: (The teams might have to wait a few months to make it official since Wallace has a reacquisition restriction)

Ship Rondo, Wallace and Bass to Detroit for Knight/Drummond/Villanueva/Stuckey and a #1 pick.

Why for Boston: You get two years of Knight on a rookie deal to see if he's the real deal and can then extend and the same with Drummond for the next three years. They immediately become your starting PG and C. The #1 pick would likely be in the middle of the 1st round. You get out from under Bass's two years and nearly $14 million and Wallace's 3 years and $30 million and add the $8 million expiring contracts of Villanueva and Stuckey.

Why for Detroit: Detroit is motivated to get Rondo to join Monroe and Smith to form a "Big 3." Wallace would be a decent option #4 and part of the cost to acquire a star like Rondo. They will think the #1 will be in the 20s so why not?

The money: The Celtics ship away $70 milliion in salary for about $30 million back.

Trade #2: (The teams might have to wait a few months to make it official since Humphries has a reacquisition restriction)

Ship Kris Humphries and Courtney Lee to Houston for Asik.

Why for Boston: You get out from under Lee's 3 years and $16 million contract. Asik has a two-year audition to show if he can be a top C.

Why for Houston: Asik wants out and you could use a double-double machine like Humphries at PF. You can get out from under Asik's two years and $20 million deal.

The money: Boston deals $28 million and acquires $20 million.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

End result:

The Celtics ship away: Rondo, Humphries, Wallace, Bass, Lee ($98 million in salary) and acquire $50 million back.

The Celtics acquire: Knight, Drummond, Asik, Stuckey, Villanueva and a Detroit #1 pick.

Let youth be served. Eight draft picks in the next four years. Much better cap flexibility to add a top FA. You have competition at nearly every position with good depth.

Celtics' New Roster:

PG Knight Stuckey

SG Bradley Crawford Bogans

SF Green Brooks Villanueva Joseph

PF Drummond Sullinger Olynyk

C Asik Melo Iverson Randolph
