I am really looking forward to this next season. After hearing about the Paul Pierce and KG trade I was pretty bummed about the upcoming season. It did not look like a fun season, not having Paul Pierce and KG on the team (and even more so, to see them in Nets jerseys). But, that all turned around real quick with the hiring of Brad Stevens and a couple of interesting games by Kelly Olynyk.
Sure, it's not a championship squad, and we might have a different team come opening day, but part of the interest and excitement this season is figuring out just what we have in our bargain bin of players. Losing/mediocrity/tanking is not fun. But rebuilding has a more positive ring to it. There's something to hopefully look forward to. How amazing would it be to watch this team rise up from the ashes, so to speak?
Anyways, all of this to say. Right now I am looking forward to this next season of rebuilding. Maybe in January when we're at the bottom of the conference, and the romanticism of rebuilding has worn off on me I'll be kicking and screaming. But for now I will take what I can get, and I'll be excited.
Of the many things I am excited to see come winter--Whiz Kid Stevens coaching the team, Rondo leading the team, Sully back in action, how KO does against NBA competition and an NBA schedule, Jeff Green coming into his own, how the Bradley/Lee/Brooks/Crawford storyline plays out--I am straight PUMPED about watching Rondo play against his German clone Schro!
