76ers hiring Brett Brown - Jay Larranaga appears to be staying in Boston

USA TODAY Sports

Well its about time!

The Sixers have finally made up their mind to make the decision that everyone assumed they should have from the start.  They'll hire Brett Brown as their new head coach.

The Philadelphia 76ers are engaged in contract negotiations to try and make San Antonio Spurs assistant Brett Brown the franchise's new head coach, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Brown has been offered the job, but the sides have to come to an agreement on contract length and compensation, sources said.  For the past seven years, Brown has been a bench assistant coach under Gregg Popovich with San Antonio. He joined the Spurs for a second time in 2001.

That means that Jay Larranaga appears to be staying in Boston to be part of Brad Stevens' staff.  I'm pretty happy about this as I have heard nothing but great things about Jay in the last year or so.
