NBA trade rumor: Celtics looking to move Jeff Green

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

A rumor about the Celtics? Sure, I'll post it.

I've written enough about rumors today but since this one is out there, I guess I'll pass it along as well.  It comes to us from Sam Smith, so... the usual grain of salt and all that.

More executives think the Celtics want to trade Jeff Green. They’re probably trying to persuade someone to take Gerald Wallace along with Green, though many figure they’ll eventually move Green. A nice exchange could be for Omer Asik, giving the Celtics a point guard/defensive center core to move forward with along with Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk. And Houston could use Green as a stretch four scorer.

I put in bold the only part of that blurb that appears to be a real sort-of-rumor.  Not a real rumor, mind you, but at least there are GMs sort-of being quoted of their gut feelings.   The rest of that paragraph is opinion and educated conjecture on Smith's part.  Which is fine.

Take it for what you will.  Discuss if you like.  My level of excitement is at "meh."

Update: I've located a full list of players that the #Celtics have made available for trade. You can find it here.
