Kelly Olynyk & Jared Sullinger selected for Rising Stars Challenge

Jared Wickerham

The rookie and sophomore were selected to take part in All Star Weekend on February 14th in a game featuring the best young talent in the NBA.

Olynyk has had an up and down season for the Celtics, a typical performance for most rookies.  After starting the year as a favorite for ROTY voted by his peers and the biggest steal in the draft by the GM's, Kelly has struggled with his shot, but shown flashes of brilliance that had me comparing him to Dirk Nowitzki.

Sullinger has battled hand injuries all season, but all signs point to him having fully recovered from the back surgery that sidelined him last year and like Sullinger, he's shown that he could be a big part of Boston's future moving forward.  He's not the C's version of Kevin Love just yet, but he's embodied what being a Celtic is all about.

Here's the press release from the Celtics.  Don't forget that after the team draft on TNT on February 6th, you can vote for the starters online and from your mobile phone.
