This losing streak is putting us in a very nice situation regarding the draft, We currently have the 4th worst record and Atlanta's pick is #17. I could see us in the bottom 3 by the end of the season.
The Holy Grail for the Celtics is getting a top 3 pick. Embiid, Parker, and Wiggins are very likely stars in the making. I think Randle and Vonleh are terrific and great consolation prizes.
But I also think there will be a terrific player available at #17. Nbadraft.net has TJ Warren and Aaron Gordon available. Imagine the potential of a young team:
Bench: Aaron Gordon, Olynyk, Bass
By no means a championship team, but remember most of these players are cheap. There would be enough money to bring on a max free agent. You add a top tier player like Lebron, Durant, Love, Hibbert, or Marc Gasol to this team and it's easily the top team in the East in 2015. You can also count on Danny to make a trade or two to improve this team.
Sure this is all a lot of wishful thinking at this point. We have to depend on ping pong balls bouncing the right way, players dropping, keeping Rondo and Sully, and a top tier free agent signing. But what else is there to do this season?
