Jared Sullinger: Celtics rising phenom

He is just in his sophomore season as an NBA player, on an NBA team that's building for the future. The 6'8" Small Forward Jared Sullinger has provided an outlet for a young Celtics team, amidst the growing pains of youth movement throughout its roster.

Expectations were never set high for the rookie Sullinger, coming into last season. As a 21st overall pick in 1st round from Ohio State. In realistic terms, he was a player mostly throughout last season. Who sat behind star Center Kevin Garnet and fellow rising big men Jeff Green. On a loaded bench, Sullinger got his reps every so often into games. Grabbing occasional rebounds here, scrapping in a few buckets. Overall doing the dirty work inside, that at times became unnoticed by many. That later on, paid dividends for the aging Garnet and Pierce towards the end of the season.

Now all of that has passed. Garnet and Pierce have moved on from Boston Celtics glory. A new wave of talent has become the foundation for a new era for Boston. This year's roster has been full of make-shift talent, smoothed over with fresh, grooming new ones. Jared Sullinger has now become an important piece for this franchise's future. As you saw from tonight's performance of 31 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Is not only the summit of Sullinger's potential. Game after game, possession after possession. Sully has become the rock of this team from an inside and physical standpoint.

The undersized forward isnt the underrated body within the interior anymore. Maybe to an outsider's perspective, he learned the knowledge of the game by watching players before him, or whom he faced. To an asset to his game. There might not be that much better offensive rebounders in the league then Sullinger. Might not even be a more craftier guy in the paint right now than Sully. You can make a good argument, that in ways Jared Sullinger naturally is the "glue guy" that bonds a broken team to become cohesive. As well as being the motor for an inexperienced engine to run

Basically, Boston found itself a gem in the roughest of patches, when no one could. Not that many people would think Jared Sullinger would develop into this big of a role for Celtics this quickly, or become Boston's most valuable player as of right now. The young, embellished talent, which is the Celtics shining light for the franchise in the coming years. Is only unearthing the possibilities of sprouting into a star.
