What happens when we don't get a top 5 pick?

A lot of posts seem to talk about Parker, Embiid, Wiggins like we already have one of them...or that's it will eventually be our choice. However, I don't see us picking in the top 5, and I'm getting a cautious feeling that one or more of the big names will stay in school.

In any event, many assume that we will package players, other picks to get into the top 5, but who's gonna give those picks up? The Bucks? The Sixers? Who, then?

So, let's assume I am right and we end up picking 8th to 10th. Since we can't get the franchise players, what then is the plan B?

Very interested in others thoughts on this, but please no general statement like, "make sure we get the right deal"or "keep flexibility without using cap space" A lot of folks are critical of specific suggestions, yet use the prior statements over and over without being specific. It's easy to knock down an idea, but tell us something better.

Rule: if you criticize a proposal, you have to have a specific solution or counter that deals with my scenario above. This should either be very interesting...or the most congenial thread ever ( for fear of having to go out on your own limb).
