If the Celts are able to have the Luck of the Irish and draft either Parker or Wiggins, I think they trade Rondo. The Celts would have a new face of the Franchise and I think Rondo would be bothered by this as he is the Face right now. If we ended up with Embiid or maybe Exum we build with Rondo, Sully, Bradley, Olynyk. If we end up with any other draft pick, say 5-8, I think we keep Rondo and maybe trade our draft picks for guys like Love, Asik, or any other proven players.
Scenario 1. Celts draft Wiggins or Parker. Trade Rondo, Wallace, Bass and Green to Detroit for Monroe(sign & trade) Jennings, Pope, Singler, 2014 # 1 pick and fillers. This allows the Celts to shed all our contracts, have ample cap space and have a young team for our young coach to build with.
Scenario 2. Celts get Embiid and we continue with Rondo and our guys on the team, trying to add a few more proven veterans to mix with our young players through some trades.
Scenario 3. Celts get 4-8th pick, management does not like what they see and we trade picks and our young players and get Love, Asik and maybe another scorer like Affalo. Celts trade Sully, Olynyk, and both 2014 draft picks and filler for Love; trade Green and/or Bass, 2015 Clippers pick for Asik(this happens after Carmelo reups with NYC), Celts trade 2015 draft pick for Affalo. Sign PP to a vet minimum. This is Rondo's team, stays captain and we somehow win another title, Rondo gets his number retired.
