The NBA Playoffs have begun without the current Boston Celtics. That's sad but no unexpected. There are, however, several former Celtics still playing that we can keep up with. There are also teams that many of us have simply started to like regardless of any ties to the Celtics. Then again, for some people, when the Celtics stop playing, the NBA is dead to them.
So I thought I'd ask: Who are you rooting for?
Here are some candidates:
The Brooklyn Nets: Because Pierce and Garnett. Also, because we don't have to root for them to lose to improve our draft position anymore. Also, they pose a threat to LeBron James and the Heat. So yeah, go Nets!
NBA Playoffs
The OKC Thunder: Because we love Kendrick Perkins better than they do. Also, because we've run out of adjectives for Kevin Durant. Also because Westbrook is fun when he's angry, which seems to be all the time.
The Memphis Grizzlies: Because Tony Allen and salmon and mashed potatoes.
The Indiana Pacers: Because Larry Bird. Enough said.
The Charlotte Bobcats: Because I still love Big Al Jefferson and they are playing against the Heat.
The Los Angeles Clippers: Because Doc Rivers is still a very fine coach.
The San Antonio Spurs: Because they are good enough to beat the Heat and because I respect the heck out of all of them.
Basically, any team playing against the Heat. AmIright?
Who am I forgetting? Who are you rooting for?
