Price of Love

From Bostonsportslink.com

With all the trade rumors surrounding Kevin Love, below are some of the potential offers from teams around the league.

Note: Rankings are based on based available offer since Kevin Love does not own a no trade clause.

1. Boston Celtics

Potential Offer: A combination of first round picks (current and future) including a high lottery pick this year, Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, Jeff Green, and/or Avery Bradley.

When it comes to offering the best package for the Timberwolves, there is no team that can compete with Celtics. Depending on the lottery results tomorrow, the Celtics could potentially offer a top five pick along with great young talents in Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, and Avery Bradley. In addition, the Celtics still have the trade exceptions that they can use so that the T-Wolves are not required to take any bad contract from the Celtics.

Now the only question would be whether or not the Celtics would do it without a guaranteed long term extension from Love before making a deal?

2. LA Lakers

Potential Offer: 2014 First round pick

From a roster standpoint there's not a lot the Lakers can do. With only a handful of guys under contract, the Lakers have an ample amount of cap space and can easily absorb Kevin Love's contract without having to give up players in return. Also depending on the lottery tomorrow, the Lakers could potentially have the best shot at Love if they can get the top pick or at least higher than the Celtics and the Suns.

3. Phoenix Suns

Potential Offer: 3 first round picks in 2014 including a late lottery pick

Phoenix has an ample of first round picks and enough cap space to absorb Kevin Love's contract without sending any players back. Depending on their luck (1.8% of getting top 3 pick), the Suns could be a major contender if they can somehow get a top 3 pick.

4. Chicago Bulls

Potential Offer: Carlos Boozer, rights to Nikola Mirotic, 2014 draft picks #16 & #19

The Bulls feel like they have the best chance of getting Kevin Love by offering the Timberwolves Carlos Boozer's expiring contract, rights to Nikola Mirotic (Currently plays in Euroleague), both their first round pick as well as Charlotte's first pick acquired in a trade.

5. Golden State

Potential offer: Forward David Lee, forward Harrison Barnes and the 2015 draft pick

Sources from the Warriors camp are reluctant to add Klay Thompson in a deal for Love and feel that a package of Lee, Barnes, and a future draft pick since they do not own a first round pick this year should be enough to pry Love from the Timberwolves.

6. New York Knicks

Potential Offer: Amar'e Stoudemire or Tyson Chandler and Iman Shumpert

Without a first round pick and high end young talent it is highly unlikely that the Knicks would be in the running form Kevin Love. Iman Shumpert is a good young player, but not enough to compete with other potential offers.
