If Embiid falls to #6 the Celtics don't trade for Love, right?

An interesting scenario is emerging thanks to Joel Embiid's recent foot injury. If I'm Minnesota, personified by Flip Saunders, I just became far more interested in the #6 draft pick because Embiid is the one guy in this draft who is acknowledged as a possible franchise talent. Bringing in Embiid could be the one way for Flip to buy a little patience from the season ticket holder crowd in Minnesota.

On the flip side of things, if Embiid falls to #6, do we really still want to trade that pick in a deal for K. Love? I say "absolutely not." Unless, of course, the medical staff tells Ainge that Embiid is far too great of an ongoing injury risk. In that case Embiid falling to #6 could be the perfect trap to get Flip to agree to a Love deal after all. So.............where does this leave us?

Scenario 1: Embiid falls to #6 and the medical staff gives the thumbs up.

Action: Keep the pick, draft Embiid, and rehab that foot! Trade Rondo? (that's for another Fanpost)

Scenario 2: Embiid falls to #6 and the medical staff gives the thumbs down.

Action: Trade the pick to Flip Saunders and the salivating Wolves in a K. Love deal. Find a Center!

Scenario 3: Embiid does not fall to #6.

Action: Do your magic, Danny, whatever that may be.

There is a ton of intrigue around this draft and Embiid's injury only adds to it. Enjoy!
