My Celtics Offseason:
As the highly anticipated 2014 NBA Draft approaches, Celtics fans are as excited as any this offseason. With Rajon Rondo set to become an unrestricted free agent come the summer of 2015, Danny Ainge has made things very clear he will be looking at all possibilities regarding offseason player movement and the upcoming draft, most notably trying to acquire Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love in hopes to land a highly talented player while hoping that its enough to sell Rondo on staying with the franchise. While the C's hold 2 picks (#6,#17) in a deep first round this year, their have been ramblings of the Celtics trying to move up, how far is unknown... but if anyone has the assets its the Boston Celtics. In my opinion I think that Boston should pass on Kevin Love(for now)... with his expiring contract and his LOVE to "vacation" in Boston, there isnt much reason to part with so much young talent and future firsts for a guy that most likely will end up playing in Celtic Green anyways(via UFA 2015).
Id think the asking price for #1 and #2 is less than what we were willing to give away on Love and Melo.
Id rather see the Celtics try and make a push into the top three picks in this years draft and honestly if I were Danny Ainge id like to acquire the #1 and #2... while im not sure what the asking price might be for either picks im pretty sure that Boston has enough picks and assets to cover their asking prices. With the picks I would draft SF Andrew Wiggins and C Joel Embiid from Kansas.
Id also sign ufa Gordon Heyward long term.
Work on resigning Rajon Rondo
And wait 1 more year on the future Celtics HOF'r Kevin Love
