Trade Proposal (Boston-Atlanta)

Hey guys.

First off, let me say that, even though there have been rumors the Hawks are willing to shop some of their players, I don't actually think the Hawks will trade anyone. It doesn't make much sense in my opinion, and the Hawks are only 1 game back of the Celtics for the 3rd seed. But... If the Hawks are actually willing to trade right before the deadline, then here is a trade idea I have.

I know every fanbase of a team may overvalue their own players and I acknowledge that. I tried to be very rational and unbiased making this idea, accounting for both sides. So here is my idea:

  • The Boston Celtics trade David Lee, Jared Sullinger, 2016 Mavs First Rounder, 2016 Celtics First Rounder, and 2016 Heat Second Rounder to Atlanta for Al Horford and Kyle Korver.

Why the Hawks could pull the trigger:
They get back David Lee primarily to balance out salaries, but they could give him minutes and see what he does, and if they like him they can sign him to a very manageable contract during free agency, or let him go if they don't like him. Sullinger can be the double-double guy for the Hawks and he is currently on a cheap contract, and the Hawks can keep him at a "reasonable" contract long term (with the cap rising). Hurts a bit as a Celtics fan to lose Sully but he may be required in the trade for Atlanta to bite. Hawks also get two first rounders to work with, which is a great return for a potential 3-month rental (I know Horford is all-star caliber but he is still a rental for any team) and Korver.

Why the Celtics should do it:
They get Al Horford who is arguably one of the best in the league, and maybe they can entice him into signing with Boston during free agency. Could also help us a lot in the playoffs and provide veteran expereience as well.
Korver is a sharpshooter who can be huge off the bench when the other teams bring in their bench players (second stringers). Can shoot threes very well and especially in the playoffs, could provide that scoring spark needed off the bench. Also have him for an extra year of control I believe, so he's not a rental.

So what do you guys think? I plan on also posting this on Atlanta's sister site but I want to hear what Celtics fans think in general. I'm open to criticism. Thanks guys!
