Why Trade IT4 NOW?

First off, I love IT. He is a great player. He is an All-Star. He is a scoring machine. He is NOT a starting PG on a championship team. He is a 6th man with 25 minutes of scoring and-1's, 3's, and running pick and rolls with athletic bigs off the bench. I love the way he developed here in Boston. I'm not against trading him though, just not NOW!

My point is, IT4 can continue to improve this team next year. but, IT4 will be on a contract year the following year. Also, to trade IT now, you need to get decent return, but the "decent return" us fans talk about are the Cousins and Paul Georges and the Jimmy Butlers of the world. These players are just not available for trade this offseason the way I see it.

However, if we wait until next February's trade deadline, let IT4 improve and show his worth, and let AB show this season was no fluke en-route, while letting Marcus Smart develop a little bit more, we can trade AB and IT at the deadline for Butler if the Bulls implode, for PG if Bird decides to rebuild, for any other player where the team needs some help for the bench or improve the starting lineup. You never know which player becomes available. Maybe an All-Star PG or SG becomes available, someone like Kyrie, John Wall, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, James Harden, Beal....

Do you guys agree that trading IT4 at the February deadline is more realistic and beneficial?
