So many options... Now which one do we choose???

Danny Ainge must be sitting in his office looking through is limitless amount of pathways he can take this team this offseason. Here are some of the options he can take this team going into the future...

Option #1 - Take what we can get and clear the roster jam... The most predictable moves the Celtics can make are to Draft Fultz at #1 and sign all star Gordan Hayward to a 4 year max deal. Doing that is improving the team and will defiantly help make the team more of a real contender. On the other hand it creates a complete roster jam with Crowder, Brown and Hayward at SF, also with IT, AB, Rozier, Smart and Fultz at PG and SG. At least 2 guys then must be traded to fix the jam. The best bet would be Crowder and Rozier... Trade those 2 for either another pick to draft a big man or trade for a cheap salary big man. Also resign Olynyk and bring in the overseas players. I think this would make the team better now and in the future.

  1. IT/Smart
  2. Bradley/Fultz
  3. Hayward/Brown
  4. Olynyk/Yabusele
  5. Horford/Zizic

Option #2- Win right now and trade assets... Trade the 2017 1st pick along with Rozier and Crowder and other future picks such as memphis 2019 or BOS 2018 possibly both for Paul George... He wants out of Indiana and Indiana is gonna lose him either way... that doesn't mean he would leave Boston. Putting George on a winning contending team along with him being able to resign him for more money than LA could offer could get him to stay in Boston. Then sign Hayward and a veteran or rookie backup guard like Gerald Green for cheap. They would have to play small ball but the talent would be there.

  1. IT/Smart
  2. AB/Veteran or rookie
  3. Paul George/Brown
  4. Hayward/Yabusele
  5. Horford/Zizic

Option #3- Build for the future and continue Danny Ainge's patience trend... Keep the pick and draft Fultz... then trading established guys somewhere such as Minnesota where tom thibodeau is looking for some veterans also thibodeau loves defensive minded players so lets say Jae Crwoder and Terry Rozier for Minnesotas #7 pick in this draft and draft a guy like Jonathan Isaac who is 6'10 and athletic and build alongside Fultz... this along with signing Hayward improves the Celtics and also gives them a core for the future which is gonna be built around Fultz Hayward Jaylen Brown and the 2018 pick... this also leaves room to resign AB who is younger and won't cost nearly as much as IT and is a solid scoring option along with a great defender. This would allow them to sign another max player in the upcoming seasons. This team wouldn't be ready to contender until about 2018-19 but hopefully this is what this could look like next season...

  1. IT/Smart
  2. AB/Fultz
  3. Hayward/Brown
  4. Isaac/Yabusele
  5. Horford/Zizic

This team would then lose IT and have Fultz replace him at PG but then add the 2018 nets pick and have room for another max young player after letting IT go...

These are just 3 of many options they have... There are other similar options that inspired me to write this from a great article by the ringer called "Are the celtics building for 2018 or 2025" so go check that out as well.
