After playing 20 of their first 29 games at home, the Celtics are about to venture out on the road for a 5 game road trip that starts in Chicago. The Bulls, on the other hand, are in the midst of a 6 game home stand.

The Celtics face the Bulls for the second time this week and this time it's in their house. The Bulls are still stinging from the loss the Celtics handed them on Sunday and they will be looking for revenge in this one. There will be no lack of effort on their part - I'm not sure what we'll get from the Celtics. One night they try, the next they don't.

The Bulls had Wednesday night off and the Celtics lost at home to a Detroit team that had just 2 wins on the road previously. Although the Celtics lost, they didn't put out much effort in the game in doing so. Hopefully that will stoke their competitive fires to come out strong in this game.

KG missed the game vs the Pistons and hopefully he will return for this one and be rested and healthy. The Celtics certainly need him against the Bulls strong front line. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Jermaine O'Neal all played poorly against the Pistons and need to have a bounce back game in this one.

Winning at the United Center is a tall order as the Bulls have lost just once there all season so far. They are 10-1 at home while the Celtics are just 4-5 on the road. The Bulls are 7-3 in their last 10 games while the Celtics are 6-4 in their last 10. The Celtics will have to play a lot better than they did against the Pistons if they want to get a win in this one.

Joakim Noah Still Hates The Celtics

Rage against the machine man, rage.

Joakim Noah is certainly not a player that Celtics fans have grown to love. In fact, it's quite the opposite. But as much as they may hate him, he hates the Celtics more.

After losing to the Celtics 95-91 on Sunday, bank on Noah and the Bulls to be ready for revenge in Chicago tonight.

When I walked into the locker room on Sunday, I wasn't surprised to see him as one of the only players left - just sitting in front of his locker staring off as a reporter talked his ear off in French.

"Can I see that box score?" he asked me.

I handed it to him and watched as he looked it over, shaking his head in disgust.

"We shot 38-percent tonight, that sucks," he said.

But doing against the Celtics makes it exponentially worse for Noah.

"Yeah no question I hate losing to the Celtics," Noah said. "I don't know. I'm from New York so I kind of grew up hating the Celtics too."

"It's that green... I don't know. I just don't like that color," he said.

Gasol, Deron, or Have Faith In Rondo?

Promoted FanPost

Rondo is undoubtedly the best player of the Celtics right now. But is he enough to lead the team for Banner 18? That is the biggest question every C's fan is trying to answer to their minds up to this point in time.

Few weeks ago there were rumors of a Gasol-Rondo trade that emerged and at the same time, astonished many NBA fans. Not only that one's curiosity will make you wonder with the idea, but most importantly, the "mortal sin" with the aforesaid notion since it will be a planned transaction between two renowned rivals established way back in the past histories of the NBA. We Celtics fans immediately resisted with the idea, but on the other hand it really makes sense.

Celtics Still Searching For Identity On Offense

Where is that identity? I left it here somewhere.

The Celtics are still searching. Whether it's against the Miami Heat or the Detroit Pistons - they are still searching.

For what, you ask?

Who they are on offense.

The players don't really know. Doc Rivers doesn't really know. And far be it from any one of us to have any clue.

Maybe the answer, if ever discovered, isn't one we want to hear anyways.

When it comes to straight up scoring points, the Celtics are ranked 26th in the NBA averaging just 90.2 per game. The four teams behind them? Raptors, Pistons, Hornets, and Bobcats.

The two teams ahead of them? Nets and Wizards.

Talk about a crap sandwich.

The difference though, is that the Celtics play defense - something none of those other teams that are listed do to the same extent. That's why when the C's lose it's on their defense, not their offense - so they say.

The Celtics reportedly put in claims on Jeremy Lin both times he was released but lost out to the Rockets and Knicks. So the question is, would he have even played for Doc?

Rondo and Wilcox Making A Connection

See, Rondo didn't take ALL the shots last night.

Nice to see that Rajon finally has an athletic big to run with.

Wilcox contributes energy, points - The Boston Globe

"It's no different, I guess, than [Tom Brady] and Gronk [Rob Gronkowski] - you get confidence in certain guys running and there are certain guys that probably can run and Rondo would not throw it.''

"At the beginning of the year, I was dropping a lot of his passes. Practicing helped me be in the right situation at the right time and the passes he’s throwing right now are nothing surprising,’’ Wilcox said. Now that Wilcox knows what to expect from Rondo, the two have a good thing going. The point guard has set his forward up for five dunks in the past two games. "I love playing with Chris. He’s probably one of the fastest bigs in the league. I tell him to get out there and run with me and he does a great job every night,’’ Rondo said. "We’re starting to make easy baskets in transition and that’s what we need, I think, offensively.’’

I've compared Rondo to Brady in the past, but I think I might slow down with the Gronk comparisons until Wilcox can show he can do it consistently. Still, it is encouraging. We need more easy baskets and Rondo needs someone to throw to.

Bill Russell: Enough Said

Former Boston Celtic Bill Russell, middle, receives a standing ovation after being introduced prior to the Celtics' NBA basketball game against the Detroit Pistons in Boston, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012. (AP Photo/Elise Amendola)

I saw that Bill Russell was at the game last night. I don't even know why honestly. I know it was his birthday the other day and I know that February is Black History Month. But honestly, I don't even need a reason to post about Bill Russell. He's Bill Russell.

So here's a link to an article that was published exactly a year ago today. Enjoy.

Boston should honor Bill Russell for his historic roles as a basketball player and man - ESPN

"I always felt it was better to understand," Bill Russell once said, "than to be understood." At a heavy cost, Bill Russell understood. He understood contradiction: between the individual and the team, the distance between black and white, and how different things could be if he was dealing with a person or a people. If you don't flinch from the truth, Bill Russell is all things human and ultimately inspirational: heartbreaking, right, wrong, independent, excellent, revolutionary and flawed. He understood the difference between the American ideal and its often contradictory realities. He understood that publicly navigating these poles could drive a person insane.

Also, our very own Master PO had the honor of interviewing Bill a few years back. Here is that interview in two parts.
