Celtics Stuff Live: Draft Night Show
Danny Ainge on draft night is like a box of chocolates, and history tells us that his professions that nothing is imminent, is more likely a spy hunter smoke screen. Maybe he will stand pat, but the odds are against it and for the 4th consecutive year Celtics Stuff Live will broadcast during the main event. The show starts just about the time of the first pick, 7:30pm, and will run until at least 10:30pm depending on how the evening goes.
We have all the familiar names checking in throughout the night including Sean Grande, Steve Bulpett, Marc Spears, Scott Souza, Jessica Camerato, Eric Weiss of BBIQ (who always provides excellent in-depth scouting analysis), and Greg Dickerson who will provide regular updates from the Celtics' Draft Headquarters.
Of course, amongst all these excellent guests, we will be taking your calls/e-mails/questions from the chat room. See you Thursday night!

Celtics Stuff Live: Tonight With Steve Bulpett
The offseason is upon us at Celtics Stuff Live, but we "break" for no one and that includes the minor fact that the Celtics won't play another game for nearly four months. Already we have seen the first trade rumor of the summer which I believe was titled "OMG!! RAY AND RONDO TO PHENIX FOR AMORE AND BARBOSA!!!" Or maybe not, but you get the drift... this won't be the first rumor of the summer, that is certain. To help us weed out the good stuff this evening, Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald joined us to chat about all things Celtics through what should be a potentially pivotal period for the team as it looks toward Banner 18 and beyond.
Steve displayed some disappointment that the team felt it was necessary to keep the media and the fans in the dark regarding Garnett's injury status, but it didn't appear that he's ready to throw hands with the "Wycster". We broached the subject of the Ray/Rondo rumor and Steve noted that the team is going to listen to everyone, but indicated that the team made the deals it did for Allen and Garnett to win as many championships as it could with them as key players on the Celtics. Fast forwarding to the present, Celtics are resolved to keeping Rondo in uniform for his entire career, and that neither the team nor Rondo's agent are looking at maximum contract money in a deal. Certainly good news for the Rondo fans, like myself, out there. However Steve mentioned the team seems much more committed to building around Pierce, Garnett, and Rondo than Ray.
On his way to wrapping up with the show, Steve told the story of how Tom Thibodeau "Almost broke the sky" when they played ball together back in the day.

Catching Up
So, if a blogger goes on vacation and the blog never skips a beat, did he ever really leave? I'm back from the beach with a mini-tan that will fade in 3 days and trying to catch up with things on the blog. Big, big thanks to Steve, Roy, and Green 17 as well as everyone else for keeping things rolling.
Don't think that things will slow down around here just because of some silly matter like the season ending. I've got like 6 pages of notes on topics I want to cover and I can't wait to put them down and get us talking about a very important offseason.
Happy Memorial Day everyone.

SBN Expands - Laker Fans Have A Home
I wanted to introduce people to SBN's newest blog which happens to be about the Lakers: Silver Screen and Roll
This makes me happy on a number of levels. For one thing, the SBN family grows again. For another, if we meet again in the Finals, we'll have another blog to collaborate with. And last but not least, we finally have a place to point Laker fans to when they decide to troll our blog.
With that said, I cannot stress this enough, I do not want Celtics fans going to this blog to troll or taunt. You are better than that and I'll have no patience for it.
In related news, I forgot to mentione a few days ago that we have a new Pistons blog as well. Welcome Motown String Music as well.

New Site Features from SBN
Just a note about some fun new features you can see on this site from now on.
Photos: The most visible will be the inclusion of AP and Getty Images. I'm super-excited about this because the blogging software upgrades now allow me to grab and crop photos on the fly. It even gives you a link to see more related photos in various formats.
New Team Page: Follow this link to the Celtics team page. You'll find the usual roster, stats, etc. but you'll also see updated feeds to related blog topics, an updated injury report, and now full box scores! If possible, we'd like to make CelticsBlog the only website you'll ever need, ...for anything, ...ever. Please don't leave. Stay here with us. We'll send the tech team out to mow your lawn so you can surf the site a little longer.
New Player Profile Pages: Take a look at Kevin Garnett's page for stats, a scouting report, honor's and awards, injuries and transactions, and trades. Then check out any player from any team to scout for upcoming games. Don't know anything about Alexis Ajinca? Here's his page.
There are more subtle changes here and there but those are the big ones for now. SBN is dedicated to improving the technology by leaps and bounds and making the blogging experience better for bloggers and blog readers alike. I hope you enjoy these upgrades. Expect more to follow in the months and years ahead.

Who Shot Mamba? Is Real
Totally off topic: Anyone remember YAYSports, the now defunct blog tangentially about basketball? If you don't know what I'm talking about, feel free to ignore the rest of this.
If you do remember it, then you'll remember that the site died an early death because the guy who runs it (Brian Spaeth) decided to make a movie called Who Shot Mamba? He hyped it mercilessly until everyone got sick of hearing about it with no payoff. In fact, there was a widely circulated rumor that there never was any movie and he was just being nutty and attention needy.
I can tell you that he is nutty and attention needy, but he also really did create a movie. He sent me a copy and I watched it last week. It is a really goofy movie that aligns perfectly with Brian's sense of humor. The highlight for me was seeing Bill Walton play a cameo appearance. It is a brilliant, stupid, and funny scene all in one.
So there you go Brian. I vouched for you. Now stop bugging me already.
